Decolonization

Resources in this section share stories and skills of connection to place, networks of kinship, and land-based living. No matter what lineages we carry, we all hold the capacity to feel land and life as dependent on one another— and some of us are much further away from this memory than others. This reconnection is a crucial part of decolonization, and all of our lives depend on it. We are strengthened in witnessing one another’s stories of re/connection.

For those of us that carry settler ancestry, recognizing the impact of colonization on Indigenous peoples, and continued present-day efforts of setter colonialism, is another crucial part of decolonization. This builds reverence for the original peoples of all lands and what our relatives, human and more-than-human, have endured — and calls forth responsibility. What are you responsible to today? This section of resources attempts to support all of the above for many peoples.
